Canon Point: Not long after the trolls arrive on the flying hunk of rock they now call home but before she speaks to any of the kids. Essentially around here if you don't think too much about time shenanigans.

Personality: Kanaya is nothing if not duty driven. As one of the rare Jade bloods it has been her duty from birth to care for her lusus, a Virgin Mother Grub, as her lusus cares for her. Lusii are an odd form of parental figure to trolls, taking the form of both real and monstrous creatures in varying sizes and levels of responsibility. She has known all along that after her lusus dies the duty to raise the next Mother Grub and assist in the breeding and birthing of new trolls will fall to her. This sense of responsibility continues on in other aspects of her life. She endeavors to become a sort of den mother to the other trolls after their lusii die, offering sympathy and advice, welcomed or not. She also attempts to offer advice to the kids, with mixed results. Her trolltag, or internet handle, is GrimAuxiliatrix where auxiliatrix is Latin for “helpful woman.”

Kanaya is still a child. At around 6 sweeps (approximately 13 years in human terms) she can still be quite naïve and cautious upon first meeting. She is being pulled from before the trolls contact the kids so, for the most part, sarcasm is lost on her. She maturely accepts the death of her lusus, as she knew it to be her time but still weeps openly when her heart is broken for the first time. After this she seems to be less willing to pursue romantic relationships.

Despite this, Kanaya is incredibly strong both emotionally and physically. Raised in a desert oasis, she had to learn to defend herself at an early age. She is skilled with her weapon, or strife specibus, a large white chainsaw that can be hidden away in the form of lipstick, and has no qualms with blood or getting her hands dirty. Although not prone to anger she can fly into a fit of rage when faced with enemies.

Kanaya is one of a kind. Jade blooded trolls are extremely rare and she is the only troll in recorded history to have a Virgin Mother Grub as a Lusus. Unlike others of her species she can withstand, and even enjoys the sun. This may have lead to her fascination and love of the stories of rainbow drinkers (the troll version of vampires) who, like her, are day walkers. What makes her even more unique is her love of fashion. While most trolls pay no mind to fashion, Kanaya takes great joy in designing and making clothing for herself and others. Her hive, or house, is bedecked with great lengths of colorful fabric, setting it apart from any others. When she was very young, she was approached by the mysterious and omniscient Doc Scratch and he becomes her Guardian, foreshadowing a greater destiny for her, although this greater destiny, or how much he actually did for her, has yet to be seen.

In addition, she seems to lack the anger and violent tendencies customary to her species. Rather, she has a firmer level of control over her anger. Before her death and subsequent resurrection she's seldom seen getting angry except when facing enemies in the Medium. More often her temper manifests itself in the form of annoyance. This is most obvious in her dealings with two of her fellow players. Her annoyance with Eridan and Vriska seems to come more from a long standing relationship with both of them and both of them grinding on her nerves for so long. She attempts to be patient with them because she wants to be helpful and wants to be the nice one but even the nicest ones can get aggravated, especially with those two and how consistently rude they can be. With Eridan she tells him point blank that she won't auspitize for him because of how rude he is and even makes fun of his quirk. With Vriska...she threatens to dump a toilet on her head if she doesn't make ramps for Tavros.

However, no matter how annoyed or aggravated she is with them or anyone, or how strange they may be, she is also willing to accept and still offer her assistance and motherly love. Or at least attempt to, to the extent of her patience.

Abilities: She is an alien with a longer than human lifespan but unless you count the ability to be a nosy busybody she has no abilities that would make her superhuman. However, unlike the rest of her species, she can withstand the sun.
